The Great Train Robbery (1903) - Broncho Billy Anderson stars in Edwin S. Porter’s landmark western was one of the first films with an actual storyline. The Red Man’s View (1909) - D.W. Griffith takes a rare, early look at the settling of the West from the Indians’ point of view. Hell’s Hinges (1916) - William S. Hart in his quintessential role as a gunman hired to rid a town of a crooked priest. The Vanishing American (1925) - Richard Dix stars in this celebrated, feature-length look at the difficult life of the American Indian at the turn of the 20th century.
Disc Two
Fighting Caravans (1931) - Gary Cooper in one of his earliest sound films as a frontier scout who must fend off Indians and bad guys. The Painted Desert (1931) - A pre-Hopalong Cassidy William Boyd stars as a rancher opposite a very young Clark Gable (in his very first speaking role). The Desert Trail (1935) - John Wayne as a rodeo star opposite former Our Gang star Mary Kornman.
Disc Three
Trouble in Texas (1937) - Tex Ritter stars as a rodeo star who is next in line - to be murdered! Santa Fe Trail (1940) - Michael Curtiz directs Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, and Ronald Reagan (as Custer!) in this classic pre-Civil War western tale. Arizona Bound (1941) - Western favorites Buck Jones and Tim McCoy star as Rough Riders who must stop a ruthless gang from robbing stagecoaches.

The Outlaw (1943) - Howard Hughes’ controversial take on Billy the Kid made a star out of buxom Jane Russell. (117:00) Abilene Town (1946) - Western hero Randolph Scott and a very young Lloyd Bridges star in this exciting tale of the struggle between homesteaders and cattlemen in post-Civil War Kansas.

Daniel Boone, Trail Blazer (1956) - Former Tarzan Bruce Bennett and horror great Lon Chaney, Jr. star in this rarely seen take on the legendary frontiersman. One-Eyed Jacks (1961) - Controversial tale of revenge starring (and directed by) Marlon Brando, who intends to settle an old score with Karl Malden (his Streetcar Named Desire and On the Waterfront co-star).

Summary of Movie
